Surrender the Ego

"No one has

learned

the meaning

of life

until he has

surrendered

his ego

to the service

of his

fellow men." ~ W. Beran Wolfe

The alcoholic and the addict know that it is "all about me".

The wise person who has an inner peace and knows

serenity understands that is all about helping someone

help themselves.

The ego is important, we draw inner strength and our

uniqueness from the self, but we must always look for the

balance in life, the meaning of life, which is to do the will

of a loving Higher Power, using all the talents we possess.

Do not underestimate your talents and skills, however,

do not let your ego manufacture a false sense of pride and

a belief that you really are all that important.

Happiness is finding the balance between self and service.

Happiness is helping someone help themselves.
